  1. Dalton Public Safety Commissioner William B. "Bill" Weaver passed away on Friday at the age of 87 years old. Weaver served on the commission for 16 years after working as an educator in Daltno Public Schools for decades starting in 1963 when he came to Dalton to take a job teaching and counseling at Dalton High School. Local Dalton officials spoke of Weaver's impact on Dalton and his decades of service. (Chattanoogan)
  2. The Anna Shaw Children's Institute, a few minutes away in nearby Rocky Face, will be hosting an Easter Egg-Stravaganza at the Miracle Field at Westside Park. The event will take place on Saturday, Mar. 18 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and feature timed egg hunts divided up by age group. There will also be a petting zoo and other fun activities for kids of all ages. (Dalton Daily Citizen)
  3. Last Thursday was the induction ceremony and banquet for the 2023 Junior Achievement of Northwest Georgia Business Hall of Fame at the Dalton Convention Center. One of the nominees, Bob Chandler, said that he was "shocked" to discover that he was one of this year's inductees after being a supporter of Junior Achievement for years. Chandler is a former executive vice president of Shaw Industries. (Dalton Daily Citizen)
