  1. Hamilton Medical Center is hosting its "For Her" women's event at the Dalton Convention Center on Apr. 25 from 5-8 p.m. Doctors Chelsea Forrester and Dustin Johnston will present a physician talk on "Women's Health and Disease Prevention" at 5 p.m. Screenings for cholesterol, blood pressure, glucose, and more will be available, as well as mini-massages, acupuncture, food, and giveaways. Registration is required and those who attend the physician talk will have priority entry to the exhibit hall. (North West)
  2. During Vice President Kamala Harris' visit to Dalton on Apr. 6, Kimberly Richardson, assistant recycling manager at QCells, introduced Harris after being selected by her employer to represent the company. Richardson reflected on the visit, saying she initially felt nervous but was reassured by Harris' supportive words. QCells chose Richardson to highlight their manufacturing employees rather than celebrate themselves. (Local 3 News)
  3. The Dalton Utility board will meet on Monday, Apr. 17 at 3 p.m. to vote on extending sewer to a proposed 400-acre subdivision called Camden Farms, which includes more than 900 single-family houses, 300 units in triplexes and fourplexes, and commercial space. The project was approved by the Whitfield County Board of Commissioners in 2022 but with several restrictions, including minimum house sizes and buffer zones. (Dalton Daily Citizen)
