  1. Renters at a Douglasville storage facility have reported significant losses as someone allegedly cut off their locks and stole their belongings. Renters claim a demolition crew hired by the property owners is responsible for the incident, as they were renovating the facility without prior notice. The renters assert that the property owners did not obtain a permit for the work, while local police view the situation as a contract dispute between the storage unit management and the contractor, categorizing it as a civil matter rather than a burglary investigation. (WSB-TV)
  2. On Sep. 23, Eduardo Lozano, a freshman at Douglas County High School (DCHS) and his team at DCHS participated in Swim Across America-Atlanta's 11th Annual Open Water Event at nearby Lake Lanier Olympic Park. This event helps to benefit the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Team DCHS, consisting of six swimmers from Direct Current Swimming, a private USA Swimming Club, has raised over $13,347 through various fundraising events to support childhood cancer research. 3. A man named Erin Hagan has been arrested by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office in connection with the murder of a 25-year-old woman that occurred in northwest Atlanta on Aug. 24. The victim had died from gunshot injuries when police arrived at the scene. Hagan is facing charges including murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and tampering with evidence, though the details of how he tampered with evidence are unclear. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities believe the shooting was a domestic incident. (WSB-TV)

A Douglasville man, Chauncey Banhart, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison without parole and an additional 10 years on probation for his involvement in an armed robbery that occurred in 2021. Banhart and his accomplices, Kaitlin Arnold and Chase Glass, were convicted of robbing a man named Carlos on Oct. 11, 2021, at a location in Carrollton. The victim was physically assaulted and robbed at gunpoint, with the suspects taking various items, including shoes, jewelry, and snacks.
