DOUGLASVILLE, GA β€” The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into the death of a Douglasville man on Monday, Oct. 7, who was reported to be intoxicated at the state probation office in town. Douglasville police officers were dispatched to the office on Duralee Lane in response to a report that Colby Hendon, 27, was intoxicated, the Police Department said Wednesday in a post on its Facebook page.

On arrival, they realized that Hendon needed immediate medical attention. With the help of state probation officers, they put him into a police car, and the officer drove him to the emergency room at a local hospital.

"Hendon was pronounced dead a short time after arriving," the police said.
