'Selma' Showcases Young Kennesaw Actress
Trinity Simone, a Kennesaw sixth-grader, plays one of four girls killed in the tragic 1963 Birmingham church bombing in the movie "Selma."
A 12-year-old Kennesaw girl is one of four cast in the movie βSelmaβ depicting the tragic 1963 church bombing in Birmingham, Alabama.
Trinity Simone, a homeschooled sixth-grader, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution this is her first film role. Simone appears in a brief scene that depicts the tragic deaths of Addie Mae Collins, Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson and Denise McNair, the four girls who were killed by falling rubble after a bomb blast at the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham.
Selma, which was released in select theaters on Christmas Day, is a 2014 historical drama based around the 1965 voting rights marches from Selma to Montgomery. The film will have a wide release Jan. 9, 2015.
