Couple Killed In Possible Murder-Suicide In Lawrenceville: Police

Police said the couple's small child, a boy who is no more than 2-years-old, was found safe in the Sterling Drive home.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A husband and wife were found dead Wednesday inside of a Sterling Drive home, and their deaths are being probed as a possible murder-suicide, Gwinnett County Police said at a news conference.

Shortly after 1 p.m., Gwinnett County Police alerted the public that officers were on scene investigating the fatalities at the home near Milo Court. Police did not say how the two people died nor did they identify the deceased.

Police said officers were first dispatched to the home around 11:30 a.m. for a welfare check. A family member called police after the pair did not answer their phones or show up for work, which police said was unusual for them.

Upon arriving, officers found the couple on the ground inside of the home, police said. The duo was pronounced dead by the local fire department, police said.

The case is being investigated as domestic-related. Police said the couple's small child, a boy who is no more than 2-years-old, was found safe in the home.

Police said the incident appears to be isolated. A motive is unknown.

The Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death.
