Lawrenceville City Council Approves Sunday Voting for 2021 Election Advance Voting Period

At a Special Call Meeting on July 19, 2021, the members of the Lawrenceville City Council unanimously voted to approve Sunday voting during October’s advance voting period. According to SB202, Sunday voting is optional and decided city by city.  City Clerk Karen Pierce presented the guidelines to the City Council.

Advance voting will take place daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm beginning Tuesday, October 12, 2021, and ending Friday, October 29, 2021, at Lawrenceville City Hall.

Qualifying for offices opens Monday, August 16, 2021, at 8:30 am and closes on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at 4:30 pm in the office of the City Clerk located at Lawrenceville City Hall. Individuals intending to qualify must be a resident of the City of Lawrenceville for one year prior to the date of the November 2, 2021, election, be a City of Lawrenceville registered voter, and shall remit the qualification fee of $306.00 for council member.

El Ayuntamiento de Lawrenceville aprueba la votación dominical para el período de votación anticipada para las elecciones de 2021

En una reunión de convocatoria especial el 19 de julio de 2021, los miembros del Concejo de la Ciudad de Lawrenceville votaron unánimemente para aprobar la votación el domingo durante el período de votación anticipada de octubre.   Según la ley SB202, la votación dominical es opcional y se decide ciudad por ciudad.  La secretaria municipal Karen Pierce presentó las directrices al Consejo Municipal. 

La votación anticipada se llevará a cabo todos los días de 9:00 am a 5:00 pm comenzando el martes, 12 de octubre de 2021, y terminando el viernes, 29 de octubre de 2021, en la Alcaldía de Lawrenceville.

La calificación para los cargos se abre el lunes, 16 de agosto de 2021, a las 8:30 am y se cierra el miércoles, 18 de agosto de 2021, a las 4:30 pm en la oficina de la Secretaría de la Ciudad ubicada en la Alcaldía de Lawrenceville. Las personas que deseen calificar deben ser residentes de la Ciudad de Lawrenceville durante un año antes de la fecha de la elección del 2 de noviembre de 2021, ser votante registrado de la Ciudad de Lawrenceville, y deberán remitir la cuota de calificación de $ 306.00 para miembro del consejo.
