The City of Lawrenceville is now offering CodeRED Community Notification System and CodeRED Weather Warning service to help disseminate important and critical information for all residents and businesses located in Lawrenceville’s city limits or utility service area. CodeRED is a free service used to alert citizens in the path of severe thunderstorms, flash floods and tornadoes. It has the ability to quickly deliver messages to targeted areas or the entire service area, depending on the need. An “all call” will go out on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 3 pm with instructions for signing up for CodeRED service.

Citizens are encouraged to visit www.lawrencevillega.org, click on the CodeRED logo located on the Online Services page (click on the Online Services blue button) or text ‘Lawrenceville’ to 99411 from a mobile phone. Contact information, phone numbers, text and email addresses will be requested. The system also offers a choice of weather warnings. Once registered, the call will display as “CodeRED” when emergency calls are received.

It is recommended that all businesses register, as well as all individuals who have unlisted phone numbers, who have changed their phone number or address within the past year, and those who use a cellular phone as their primary number.

Those without Internet access should ask a friend or family member for assistance with adding contact information to the emergency database by utilizing the instructions above. Citizens may also request assistance with registration from the City of Lawrenceville Customer Service department at 678.407.6675.

Citizens should not assume they are automatically enrolled. CodeRED Weather Warning is an opt-in only weather warning product that taps into the National Weather Service’s Storm Based Warnings. CodeRED Weather Warning automatically alerts affected citizens in the path of severe weather just moments after a warning has been issued.
