DULUTH, GA — Visitors to the Infinite Energy Center will face fewer traffic jams in driving to events there, thanks to a $2.8 million project recently approved by the Gwinett County Board of Commissioners. The goal of the project is to improve traffic flow at the center and the adjoining Revel mixed-use entertainment district being built on old parking lots, according to a Gwinnett statement.

As part of the project, Sugarloaf Parkway will be widened from four to six lanes from Interstate 85 to the Infinite Energy Center entrance west of Satellite Boulevard. Also, a third left turn lane will be added from Satellite south onto Sugarloaf.

Other changes at that intersection will include a new traffic signal, curb and gutter, and drainage improvements, according to the county statement. It did not mention a deadline for the project.
