Homeless Person In Stable Condition After Lawrenceville House Fire

Fire officials do not know what caused the fire Sunday.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A person who fire officials said is homeless was injured in a fire Sunday morning that began in the crawlspace at a house near the Sterling Hill Drive and Towler Road intersection.

The fire occurred around 3 a.m. at a single-story, single-family house that had been transformed into a business, where a passerby called it in to first responders. The caller said the fire was spreading to nearby woods, and there were no cars in the driveway, Gwinnett County fire officials said.

The person was found laying on the ground with smoke inhalation and was taken to Northside Hospital Gwinnett in stable condition, fire officials said.

There were no other injuries, fire officials said.

The cause of the fire was unable to be determined, fire officials said.
