Lawrenceville Shooting Suspect Charged With Murder

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A 21-year-old Jonesboro man is facing murder charges after a 19-year-old Lawrenceville man was shot to death Sunday at Kentshire Place, Gwinnett County Police said.

Police said Michael Maddox was shot at Kentshire. Three witnesses took him to the hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

Righteous Love Williams was charged on suspicion of felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies, police said.

Williams was arrested Tuesday in Clayton County and later booked into the Gwinnett County Jail, police said. The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office and the Clayton County Police Department SWAT team assisted with the arrest.

Jail records show Williams remained incarcerated Thursday.
