Major Road Improvement Projects Approved Across Gwinnett County

The Board of Commissioners approved a construction contract for three transportation improvement projects in western Gwinnett.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — The Board of Commissioners approved a construction contract for three transportation improvement projects in western Gwinnett earlier last week.

Commissioners awarded the projects along Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, SR 140/Holcomb Bridge and Pond Road to Sol Construction, LLC, in an amount not to exceed $835,148.

According to a county news release, two of the projects are funded entirely by the 2017 SPLOST program and provide additional pedestrian connectivity by filling in missing links of sidewalks.

The Peachtree Industrial Boulevard project adds sidewalk, curb and gutter and associated drainage improvements along the east side of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard from North Berkeley Lake Road to Bradford Creek Trail.

The SR 140/Holcomb Bridge project adds sidewalks, curb and gutter along the east side of Holcomb Bridge Road from Peachtree Corners Circle Road to Smithpointe Drive.

The Pond Road project will install a new drainage system and a new water main from Ingram Road to Tiger Boulevard. The improvements include the installation of curb, gutter and associated drainage structures, as well as new fire hydrants. This project is funded by SPLOST and the Department of Water Resources.
