Replica of Mayor H. Rhodes Jordan's Uniform on Display at City Hall

The display featuring a photo of former Lawrenceville Mayor H. Rhodes Jordan, father of current Mayor Judy Jordan Johnson, was unveiled at City Hall Monday.

The City of Lawrenceville paid honor to veterans with the unveiling of a display case featuring military memorabilia at City Hall Monday.

The display is provided by the Gwinnett County Veterans Memorial Museum.

Included inside the case is a replica Naval uniform, much like the one worn by former Mayor H. Rhodes Jordan. An eight term mayor, Jordan is the father of Lawrenceville's current mayor, Judy Jordan Johnson. Jordan served as a signalman on a landing craft in the Navy during World War II.

“This is an incredible surprise,” said Mayor Judy Jordan Johnson in a release. “It is my hope that this display and the work of the Gwinnett County Veterans Memorial Museum will not only remind citizens of my father, but of all the men and women who served – and still serve - in the armed forces, sacrificing for the freedom we enjoy today.”
