Sixth-Grader Wins T-shirt Design Contest for Gwinnett Great Days of Service

Gwinnett Coalition has announced that a Lawrenceville student is the winner of special T-shirt design contest for the 14th annual Gwinnett Great Days of Service.

Chanelle Breaud, a sixth-grader at Five Forks Middle School, will now have her designed (see attached) featured on T-shirts that will be worn by Gwinnett Great Days of Service volunteers. The event takes place in October.

"I am very happy that I was chosen as the winner, and I know that I can accomplish more things," Chanelle said in media release.

Chanelle entered the contest at the Children’s Tent hosted by Duluth’s Barefoot in the Park. And, on Aug. 12, the city will honor her at a council meeting.

She was chosen from a pool of 66 entries, including one by a sibling. In addition to winning the contest and being recognized by the city of Duluth, Chanelle will receive a gift certificate to one children’s canvass class at Eye Candy Art Studio.

Her mom, Barbara, was quoted as saying: "I feel that her being recognized in this contest will boost her self-esteem and help her go further with her interest in the arts."
