Suspect Sought In Lawrenceville Car Break-In

Police say the man broke into a woman's car, left the scene and returned when he realized he had left his cell phone in her car.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A man broke into a woman's car, fled the scene then returned and pointed a gun at the woman when he realized he left his cell phone in her car, Gwinnett County Police said Tuesday.

The incident took place on May 9 in the 1500 block of Lawrenceville Suwanee Road. Police said a woman was inside of a church when she saw someone inside of her car in the parking lot.

The woman confronted the man, and he fled the scene, but he left his cell phone inside of the car, police said. The man returned and demanded to retrieve his cell phone.

The woman told the man she was waiting for police officers. Police said the man then pointed a gun at her, broke the window of the woman's car and took his cell phone.

Police are asking for the public's help in locating a man who is about age 19-20, about 6-feet-tall, 180 pounds and was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. Police said the man was in a gray or silver Jeep Liberty being driven by another man. The Jeep had decals on the back windshield that read "Cars $500 Down."
