LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Drivers on State Route 316 in Gwinnett should plan ahead between Friday and Tuesday as road work could cause delays and traffic.

In a news release, the Gwinnett County Department of Transportation said crews will begin working on Friday to place bridge beams at the Harbins Road interchange at State Route 316.

Starting on Friday — between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. — the left lane of the westbound roadway will be closed for approximately half a mile. During this time, police officers will guide and pace traffic to make room for work crews. Signage will also be posted to alert drivers to find alternate routes, the transportation department said in the release.
