Woman Killed In Lawrenceville Shooting Identified

Police say the woman attacked her mother, who fatally shot her.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — The woman who died Tuesday night in a Spanish Moss Court shooting was identified Wednesday as Treva Murray, 47, of Lawrenceville.

Gwinnett County Police said Murray was fatally shot by her mother after an altercation between the two women. Officers responded around 8:45 p.m. to the scene, where they found Murray dead from a gunshot wound.

"During the altercation that took place, Murray attacked her mother, which resulted in Murray getting shot. Detectives are still investigating what led up to the initial altercation," police said in a news release.

No charges have been filed, but police said the case will remain active pending an autopsy.
