Back To School In Cobb Co.: Here's What To Know

Patch has your back-to-school guide to lead you through the process as you prepare for the 2024-25 academic year in Cobb County.

COBB COUNTY, GA — The first day of school is nearing for Georgia students, and as parents prepare, Patch has your back-to-school guide to usher you through the process.

So as you stuff your student's backpack with supplies, or search for those handy back-to-school deals, check out what you need to know ahead of the 2024-25 academic year in Cobb County. (See back-to-school deals below.)

Cobb County School District

School begins in Cobb on Aug. 1 and is set to end on May 21, 2025 for students. Three digital learning days are scheduled for Aug. 19, Oct. 14 and March 3, 2025.

Bus routes for each Cobb public school can be found here. Parents will need to enter their address to locate their student's bus route.

School Menus

Students at 36 Cobb schools will be afforded free breakfast and lunch due to the county's participation in the USDA Community Eligibility Provision, school officials previously said. These students do not need meal applications.

The participating schools are:

HighCobb Horizon, Osborne, Pebblebrook and South Cobb
Other ProgramsAspire and South Cobb Early Learning Center

Any parent outside of the aforementioned schools who would like to apply for free or reduce meals can complete an online family meal application.

Lunch balances can be viewed via My Payments Plus. The app can also be used to load money onto students' lunch accounts. Menu prices were not immediately available.

Marietta City Schools

Students in Marietta return to school on Aug. 1, with the final day of school being May 23, 2025. Two professional learning days are planned for Nov. 5 and Jan. 6, 2025.

School Menus

Meals in Marietta vary depending on the school level. Reduced prices are $0.30 for breakfast and $0.40 for lunch.

Students may can receive assistance with paying for meals through the city's Lunch Angels program. Through Lunch Angels, the community can help pay for students to eat. To donate, complete a form here.

Parents may review their student's lunch account or make payments to the account via LinqConnect.
