MARIETTA, GA — Gerry Miller, a veteran of Cobb County's election office, is coming out of retirement to serve as the interim director of Cobb County’s Board of Elections and Registration, county officials said Tuesday night in a news release.

His appointment by the board Monday comes after Janine Eveler retired in January. Eveler was with the county for 18 years, 12 of which she spent as the elections board supervisor.

Prior to retirement, Miller was the election office's preparation center director for 11 years. In his 20 years of working with elections, Miller has served as a supervisor and manager in Henry and Fulton counties.
