North Georgia State Fair Comes To Cobb County

The 88th annual fair will take place at Jim R. Miller Park this year, running from Sept. 23-Oct. 3.

MARIETTA, GA — Metro Atlanta’s largest fair is coming to Cobb County this year, county officials announced Sunday.

Presented by Superior Plumbing, the 88th annual North Georgia State Fair — which attracts more than 300,000 people each year from Georgia and neighboring states — will be held at Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta from Thursday, Sept. 23- Sunday, Oct. 3, featuring live music, a variety of attractions, petting barns with barnyard and exotic animals, flower shows, competitions, local entertainment and, of course, fair foods (funnel cake, anyone?).

Additionally, the family-owned and operated Great James H. Drew Exposition Midway, one of the largest carnival midways in the U.S., features an assortment of carnival games, entertainment and rides for all ages, including the Wildcat Rollercoaster, the Georgia Mountain Lift and the Mega Slide, according to a news release.

The covered arena for concerts guarantees performances rain or shine. All concerts are free with fair admission.

  • Monday-Thursday from 4-11 p.m.
  • Fridays from 4 p.m.-midnight.
  • Saturdays from 10 a.m.-midnight.
  • Sundays from 12:30 p.m.-10 p.m.

Here are the parking and admission prices:

  • Gate admission: $10 per person.
    • Children age 10 and under get in free.
  • Online advance admission: $7 per person.
    • Half-price tickets can be purchased for $5 at all metro Atlanta O’Reilly’s Auto Parts locations from Sept. 1-Oct. 3.
  • Parking: $5.
  • Ride tickets are $1.25 each, or:
    • $20 for 21 tickets.
    • $50 for 50 tickets.
    • $50 for 50 tickets.
    • $100 for 120 tickets.
    • A book of 21 ride tickets can be purchased online here at a 50 percent discount, or $11, through Sept. 23.

Masks are required inside all Cobb County government buildings (like bathrooms), but are not required in outdoor areas of the park.
