Person Found Under Train In Cobb Crash That Injured 2: Police

One of the two people injured were found underneath the train cars Monday in the Cobb County crash, police said.

MARIETTA, GA β€” Two people were hit and injured by a train around 3 a.m. Monday near West Atlanta Street and Oak Ridge Drive, and of them was found underneath train cars, Cobb County Police said.

Dispatch with CSX alerted officers to the crash, police said. When officers arrived, they found someone underneath the train with a severe lower leg injury and a head injury, police said.

Officers then applied a tourniquet to the person's leg until emergency medical personnel arrived to provide aid, police said.

A second person with a possible hip injury was found near the train tracks in stable condition, police said.

The two people were taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for treatment, police said.
