Six Flags Over Georgia Is Closed All March

COBB COUNTY, GA — Six Flags Over Georgia announced on Friday that the park will be closed through the end of March. Officials said they are following the guidance of federal, state, and local authorities.

"As of today, many states have declared a state of emergency and are recommending that all non-essential gatherings of large groups be postponed or canceled," Six Flags said in a statement.

"While there have been no reported cases of COVID-19 at this property, the safety of our guests and team members is always our highest priority. We will continue to closely monitor these evolving conditions, and will follow the most current guidance from federal, state, and local officials."

At the end of the month they said they will re-evaluate.

Globally, more than 91,000 people have been infected and more than 3,300 people have died from the COVID-19, Johns Hopkins reported Friday. Of that total, more than 80,000 confirmed cases are in China, while the entire United States has 1,701 confirmed cases as of Friday morning. Thirty-one deaths in the U.S. have been tied to the virus outbreak.
