  1. According to Cobb County police, two people were injured in a recent stabbing at The Battery Atlanta. On Friday, Sep. 8, officers who work at The Battery responded to the incident that occurred at the Coca-Cola Roxy following a concert at the venue. The victims have been identified as Jonathan Perez, 27, and Hector Perez, 31. The suspect, Oscar Gonzalez, 40, was discovered by officers at a gas station on Windy Hill Road. Gonzalez was arrested and is facing two counts of aggravated assault. (WSBTV)
  2. Cobb County officials have reported that 18 absentee ballots in last year's state elections were not counted or processed. Board of Elections and Registration Chairwoman Tori Silas said that the uncounted ballots would have had no impact on the results in two state races. Silas went on to say that the Secretary of State's office has been notified and that improvements made after last year's election should prevent this type of mistake in the future. (Patch)
  3. Students at Marietta City Schools may soon notice an increase in lunchtime options. The district is set to receive a $60,000 grant through the Georgia Advancing Agriculture, Community, Resilience & Equity (ACRE) Collective. This grant is part of a pilot program that aims to bring more local food to school lunch trays. Students may see produce like mushrooms, bell peppers, kale, blueberries, and peaches, as well as ethnic dishes like pupusas and beef picadillo. (Subscription: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
