MARIETTA, GA -- Sunday bus service is coming to Cobb County for the first time. On Tuesday, Cobb's board of commissioners unanimously approved adding Sunday service to the CobbLinc transit service. The move was made after a series of customer input meetings and a systemwide survey, according to CobbLinc.

Several ride-hailing programs will take the place of the Flex Bus, according to the county. According to a February 2019 CobbLinc report, transit agencies are increasingly partnering with ride-hailing companies like Uber, Lyft, and taxicabs that provide on-demand rides using private vehicles. Under the proposal adopted Tuesday, the county will subsidize the service while users pay a flat rate.

The changes will start going into effect this summer.
