Georgia Weather Forecast: Sunshine For Most Of The Week

Things might get soggy if you're heading out to check out some high school football Friday night. See when the chance for storms will start.

ATLANTA, GA — How's this for a surprise? For at least the first half of this week, there's no rain in the forecast for metro Atlanta.

According to the National Weather Service, we'll get a break from those afternoon thunderstorms at least through Wednesday, with the chance for rain not really picking up until we get close to the weekend. After sunny skies on Monday through Wednesday, there will be a 20 percent chance of rain on Thursday, bumping up to 30 percent on Thursday night.

But, if you're heading out to check out some high school football action on Friday, it might get a little soggy. There's a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms on Friday, followed by a 40 percent chance Friday night, the NWS says.
