Georgia Weather Forecast: When Will Weekend Storms Hit?

Also, see how hot it will get in metro Atlanta this weekend, despite two new storm fronts moving into the area from Tennessee.

ATLANTA, GA — Another weekend, another round of thunderstorms set to pummel metro Atlanta.

In a hazardous weather outlook, the National Weather Service said Friday morning that yet another storm front is due to hit north and central Georgia later in the day, bringing an increased chance of thunderstorms. Storms over Tennessee were expected to move into north Georgia by late morning, then strengthen and expand into the afternoon.

Damaging winds and large hail were likely, the NWS said, especially in the afternoon.

If there's any good news, it's that Friday's storms will be relatively quick moving, meaning that flooding won't be too great of a concern — although the areas hardest hit by recent storms could still be soggy enough for there to be problems.
