MIDTOWN, GA — A historic Midtown building that once housed a prominent funeral home is now part of a mixed-use development proposal. Portman Holdings presented detailed plans earlier this week for a 36-story residential tower as part of the redevelopment of Midtown Atlanta’s historic H.M. Patterson & Son Spring Hill Chapel property, reported several outlets.

The Midtown Development Review Committee (DRC) will have to approve the developer’s plan for a groundbreaking to happen next year.

The plan calls for ground floor retail on a nearly four-acre hilltop site and includes about 375 units. There would also be a 34-story office building and 24-story hotel. More details are expected to be unveiled in the future.
