LifeLine Animal Project Has Reached the No-Kill Threshold At Our County Shelters. Please Help Us Sustain a No-Kill Atlanta.

You can help by simply adopting, fostering or spaying/neutering your pet!

Summer is an extremely busy time at LifeLine Animal Project’s shelters as we continue to care for over 800 animals! Since we don’t turn pets away at our county shelters, they are considered open-intake shelters.

Did you know that LifeLine’s DeKalb County Animal Services (DCAS) and Fulton County Animal Services (FCAS) shelters are the first open intake shelters in metro Atlanta’s history to reach the no-kill threshold (defined as saving 90% or more of the animals who enter the shelter)? We are thrilled to have achieved this, but with the high number of pets coming into the shelters each day (up to 40 at each shelter), we cannot sustain this no-kill level without your help.

You can help us significantly by adopting, fostering from the DeKalb or Fulton shelters or by spaying/neutering your pet. Two of the dogs you can adopt are our Pets of the Week, below.

LifeLine Animal Project's FCAS Pets of the Week: Tatum and Huck

Tatum is a beautiful Great Pyrenees boy who is about six year's old and weighs 74 lbs. Although he was shy when he entered the shelter, he has come out of his shell after receiving some extra love and reassurance, and he now enjoys being with people. Tatum is sweet, gets along with other dogs and will absolutely blossom when he becomes part of a family.

Huck is a two-year-old Black Lab who has a terrific attitude. This 68 lb. hunk of a boy constantly smiles, and makes everyone around him happy. Although one of his front legs slants at an unusual angle, it doesn’t cause him any pain and he continues to jump around without a care in the world. However, Huck should be examined by a veterinarian to ensure that all is ok with his leg.

Both Tatum and Huck are already neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, so they can leave the shelter with you today. And if you adopt either this weekend, their adoption fee is only $17.76. Come meet these boys today by visiting the shelter, 860 Marietta Blvd, NW, Atlanta, 30318, emailing [email protected] or calling 404-613-0357.
