In Loving Memory of Ford Doyle Rucker, 94

Ford Doyle Rucker, age 94, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away Friday, December 4, 2015. A veteran of WWII, he was a faithful member of Wieuca Road Baptist Church, a devoted husband, father, and avid golfer. He and his wife Dot loved to travel the world. Never enjoying retirement, Doyle worked in electrical sales for over 60 years. He loved to be around people and was renowned for his jokes and stories. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ford and Ruby (Groover) Rucker and by his grandson, Christopher Michael Robinson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 73 years, Dorothy (Robertson) Rucker; his daughters, Judy (Ben) Hodges, Patty (Don) Robinson, and Susan (Ken) Berg, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and other cherished family members.

The family will receive visitors Friday, December 11th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the H. M Patterson & Son, Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Road, NE, Brookhaven, GA, 30319. The service will be held in the chapel at Wieuca Road Baptist Church , 3626 Peachtree Road, NE, Atlanta, GA 30326 on Saturday, December 12th at 11:00 a.m. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association to advance the cure for this terrible disease from which his wife suffered.
