In Loving Memory of Steve Story Tolleson, 61

Steve Story Tolleson, 61 a 3rd generation native Atlantan, succumbed to heart failure on Friday, November 27th. He attended W.F. Dykes high school and graduated from Darlington School, Rome GA in 1973. He attended University of Georgia, was a proud and devoted Bulldog fan and a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He is predeceased by his parents, Thomas Mahone and Suzanne Story Tolleson. He enjoyed gardening, animals, children, a good Chardonnay, playing tennis at Cherokee Town and Country Club, where he was a long term member, and visiting the North Georgia with his family and friends at his mountain house at Big Canoe. He loved all things Christmas, was generous to a fault, a gentle and kind hearted soul, a true southern gentleman and prominent businessman. Steve worked in his family business, Southern Druggists, for 25 years and most recently was self employed with his wife, as a manufacturers rep and sales consultant. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Jane (Morgan) Tolleson, his two sons, Stephen Tolleson and Tom Tolleson. He is also survived by his siblings: Tom Tolleson (Lynn), Stacy Martin (Frank), Kim McEver (Bob), Laura Ames (Richard), sister in law Mary (David) Hand, brother in law Mark (Karen) Morgan, 20 nieces and nephews and 13 great nieces and nephews. Steve was an active member of Northside Drive Baptist church for many years, where he was a deacon and coached the men’s softball team. Since 2004, he was a member of Northside Methodist church. He coached Little League in Smyrna for many years and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him
The service will be held Tuesday, December 1 at H.M. Patterson & Son Spring Hill Chapel, at 2 pm. Visitation will be Monday, November 30 from 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Friends of Refugees P.O. Box 548 Clarkston GA. 30021.
