Man Accused Of Stealing Ambulance From Midtown Hospital Charged: APD

The man is being charged on suspicion of theft by taking and other charges, police say.

ATLANTA, GA — A man accused of stealing an ambulance Monday is facing charges in Fulton County, according to the Atlanta Police Department.

Police responded around 4 a.m. to Cheshire Bridge and Monroe Drive to a report of a stolen Grady Memorial ambulance in midtown. Authorities said the emergency vehicle was taken from Emory Midtown Hospital in the 500 block of Peachtree Street.

Minutes after reporting to the scene, police said they saw the stolen ambulance pull into a gas station at Piedmont Road.

The driver left the vehicle and starting walking away from it, police said.

Jonathan Williams, 33, is being charged on suspicion of theft by taking, traffic light violation and driving in proper lane. Police said he was taken to the Fulton County Jail.
