Street Racing In Midtown, Buckhead, ATL Police Have New Strategy

Atlanta police have issued nearly 500 citations to drivers since the beginning of the year for street racing.

MIDTOWN, GA — Atlanta’s street racing issues were addressed Monday night at a public safety committee hearing.

Atlanta interim police Chief Rodney Bryant said officers have issued nearly 500 citations to drivers since the beginning of the year, reported WSB. Charges range from racing on highways and streets, reckless driving more.

He said officers will increase their patrols in Midtown, Buckhead and downtown as part of a new strategy.
