Uber Launches JUMP E-Scooters In Atlanta

The scooters cost $1 to unlock and $0.10 per minute after that.

ATLANTA -- JUMP by Uber e-scooters launched in Atlanta on Wednesday. The addition of e-scooters brings another transportation option to the Uber app. The scooters cost $1 to unlock and $0.10 per minute after that. To use a JUMP scooter, users can reserve via the Uber app or by walking up to an available scooter and scanning the QR code to unlock. When using the app, tap the mode switch at the top of your home screen, and select Scooter. Atlantans also have the option to unlock a Lime scooter right in the Uber app.

“Riders have told us they like having multiple transportation options available within a single app to fit their various needs,” said Jen Shepherd, JUMP General Manager for the Southeast. “Reliability, convenience, and choice have long been key attributes of the Uber platform. With those features in mind, we’re excited to now offer access to electric scooters at the push of a button.”

In 2017, JUMP launched the first ever dockless electric bike share system in the United States. It then expanded to offer electric scooters this Fall. In May, Uber acquired JUMP as part of its mission to expand the menu of affordable, reliable transportation options available within the Uber app.
