Lilburn Man Charged In Killing Of Snellville Woman

The woman was found shot to death at her job, police said.

SNELLVILLE, GA — Gwinnett County Police have arrested a Lilburn man in connection with the shooting death of a Snellville woman, police said Monday.

Courtney Owens, 34, was found dead around 2:30 p.m. Dec. 9, 2022, inside of a Centerville Highway business, where she worked, police said. A witness gave officers a description of a man walking away from the scene, who was wearing a mask and had a gun, police said.

Wesley Vickers, 23, is charged on suspicion of aggravated assault, felony murder and malice murder in connection with her death, police said.

Police have not released a motive in the shooting.

Vickers is being held in the Gwinnett Detention Center.
