WOODSTOCK, GA — Fourth of July may still look slightly different this year due to the pandemic, but many events are back on after a hiatus. Because July 4 falls on a Sunday, the Independence Day holiday is observed on Monday, July 5.

Here are the openings and closings to know around the holiday:

  • Cherokee County government will be closed on Monday.
  • Municipal offices for Woodstock will be closed on Monday.
  • All Sequoyah Regional Library System branches will be closed on Sunday.
  • Post offices: This year, July 4 falls on a Sunday, so post offices will already be closed and there will be no mail or package deliveries. For most federal employees, Monday, July 5, will be treated as a holiday for pay and leave purposes.
  • All banks will be closed already on Sundays, but will also be closed on Monday, July 5.
