1 Airlifted, 2 Others Injured In Huntley Crash

The driver of a sports utility vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries in the collision Thursday afternoon at Huntley and Kreutzer roads

HUNTLEY, IL — One person was airlifted to a hospital and two others were injured in a a two-vehicle crash in Huntley Thursday afternoon, police said.

The head-on collision happened at about 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Huntley and Kreutzer roads, according to a news release from the Huntley Police Department. Two people were extricated from a sports utility vehicle involved in the crash, and the driver of the SUV was taken by helicopter to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Two additional people were taken by ambulance to Northwestern Hospital in Huntley with moderate injuries, police said.

The cause of the collision is under investigation by the Gilberts Police Department and Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team.
