Algonquin Man Who Was Missing For 3 Days Found Safe: Police

Daniel Winters was reported missing on April 5 and was found safe on Monday.

ALGONQUIN, IL —An Algonquin man who was missing for three days has been found and is safe.

Daniel Winters was last seen at the Pingree Metra station at 9:50 a.m. on April 5. At that time he was supposed to be enroute to visit the Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago but never arrived, authorities said.

He did not have his own vehicle, or a cell phone, and was not carrying any forms of identification, according to a post on the Algonquin Police Department Facebook page.

At the time, the temps were in the upper 30s, and Winters was wearing a t-shirt, pants and worn shoes. Authorities said he required medication, and without it, could become non-verbal and sedentary.

On Monday, police reported Winters had been found at 3:45 p.m. that day and was safe. He was in the process of being reunited with his family.
