Buffalo Wild Wings to Open Early, Serve Breakfast for Evan Jager Watch Party

Jager will be competing in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase finals on Wednesday morning.

The Buffalo Wild Wings in Algonquin will open early for the second time this week to host a special watch party for Evan Jager.

Jager, a 2007 graduate of Jacobs High School, will be competing in the final of the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase at the summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro Wednesday morning.

The Buffalo Wild Wings, 461 S. Randall Road, will open at 9 a.m. and will be serving breakfast, said Vicki Frantz, marketing director for Buffalo Wild Wings. The menu will include scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potato wedges and toast for $8. Coffee and juice will also be available as will mimosas and bloody mary’s.

The final of the men’s steeplechase is slated to start at 9:55 a.m.
The Buffalo Wild Wings also opened early on Monday so fans of Jager could watch him run in the prelims at the Olympics.

Jager finished first in his heat in the prelims.

This is Jager’s second trip to the Olympics after finishing in sixth place in the summer Olympics in London in 2012. Buffalo Wild Wings also hosted a watch party during that race.

Jager is hoping to make it to the medal stand in Rio. If he does, it will be the first time since 1984 the U.S. has won a steeplechase medal for the men’s steeplechase, according to the Aurora Beacon-News.
