Back to school? Let’s get moving! For children with physical disabilities like cerebral palsy, movement is huge. Not only do children with disabilities learn best in an included classroom, they also learn daily life skills easier when with their peers with disabilities!
Center for Independence through Conductive Education in Lake Zurich, IL begins its yearlong intensive motor training therapy program this September. Children with physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy work on skills such as walking, sitting, eating, dressing and toileting as independently as possible. The Center for Independence provides therapy in a transdisciplinary classroom – physical therapists, occupational therapists and conductive education teachers all provide therapy to a group of children with physical disabilities at the same time!

The Center provides therapy regardless of insurance or income limitations. The Center has NEVER turned a child away due to inability to pay. The Center accepts Medicaid and most health insurances to ensure all children have access to affordable, quality therapy services. The Center’s Motor Training Program helps children with physical disabilities learn the functional skills they need to be successful in an included classroom. The program's focus is on improved motor function, self-esteem, problem-solving and self-care skills. There is power in the peer - children with motor disorders are inspired by one another! Your child with a physical disability can grow up happy, healthy and able to achieve their full potential using the Center’s specialized motor training.
