WEST DUNDEE, IL — A mostly-vacant suburban mall has set its closing date for March 22.

In a letter to the remaining tenants at Spring Hill Mall, mall officials announced all leases would be terminated, according to the Daily Herald. The leases had all been month-to-month.

Meanwhile, the village of West Dundee, which has purchased the former Sears and Macy's properties, is hoping to move forward with purchasing the rest of the mall. West Dundee Village President Chris Nelson told the Daily Herald the village expects to acquire the mall from Kohan Retail Investment Group, which owns the mall, shortly after the mall's last day.
