District 300 Schools Are Closing Early Tuesday

District 300 students will be headed home early from school Tuesday.

ALGONQUIN, IL -- District 300 has called an early release day due to the weather, school officials announced in an e-mail sent to parents at 12:14 p.m. Here is what District 300 parents should expect regarding dismissal times and bus schedules:

  • All District 300 high schools will be dismissed at approximately 1 p.m.
  • All District 300 elementary schools will be dismissed at approximately 2 p.m.
  • All District 300 middle schools will be dismissed at approximately 3 p.m.
  • Oak Ridge School will dismiss at their normal time of 1:40 p.m.
  • Afternoon classes at deLacey Family Education Center and all other District 300 preschool sites have been cancelled. Morning preschool classes were dismissed at their normal time.
  • 300 Plus will be released at their normal time of 2 p.m.
  • After-school iLearn and Flex PE at all three high schools and Success Academy p.m. at Dundee-Crown High School have been cancelled.
  • Cambridge Lakes Charter School parents will receive a message from that campus.

In addition, all after-school athletic practices and activities have been cancelled, according to the District 300 website. However, after school care that is offered at specific elementary sites is still running as planned.

District 300 recommends using the Durham Bus Tracker app to monitor your child’s route home.
