Flood Warning Remains In Effect For Fox River

A flood warning remains in effect for the Fox River in Montgomery and Algonquin.

ALGONQUIN, IL – A flood warning remains in effect for the Fox River in Algonquin and Montgomery, according to the National Weather Service. As of 8:30 a.m. on Monday, the Fox River in Algonquin was at 10 feet. Flood stage is 9.5 feet.

According to the National Weather Service, minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is in the forecast. The river is expected to fall below flood stage by Tuesday evening and a flood warning will remain in effect until late Tuesday night.

Further south, the Fox River in Montgomery had reached 13 feet as of 8:30 a.m. on Monday, which is flood stage for that portion of the river. The river is expected to continue to fall below flood stage by early Tuesday and a flood warning will remain in effect through Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

At 13 feet, minor lowland flooding begins to occur near the river.

Meanwhile, a flood warning along the Des Plaines River near Gurnee has been cancelled.
