ALGONQUIN, IL — Hampshire High School students learned remotely Friday as in-person learning was disrupted amid concerns over safety, school officials said.

Threats over social media lead to Community Unit School District 300's decision to switch to an e-learning day on Friday. Students will not be permitted on campus for in-person instruction, according to a news release from District 300.

Home boys and girls basketball games between Hampshire and Jacobs High School will be played as scheduled. All other weekend athletics and activities will continue as well.
