How Much Snow Fell in Algonquin?

Algonquin recorded a whopping 7.1 inches of snow during this week's blizzard.

The Chicago area got hit hard by a blizzard this past week, which downed power lines, closed schools and left several inches of snow piled up along area roadways. But when it comes to the town that recorded the most snowfall, Bull Valley in McHenry County is the official winner, according to the National Weather Service. Bull Valley had a whopping 13.1 inches of snow over two days, according to totals compiled by trained observers as of 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Algonquin recorded 7.1 inches of snow.

With the blizzard behind us, it looks like the Chicago area will be cold. Temps wil warm to the 30s and even 40s later in the week and into the weekend. Light freezing rain is possible south of I-80 Friday night, and rain is expected this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
