Illinois Lottery Has Nearly $7M In Unclaimed Prizes From 2023

Lottery officials are urging residents to check their purses and glove boxes for the unclaimed tickets as they might be a lucky winner.

ACROSS ILLINOIS — As the end of the year nears, the Illinois Lottery is urging residents to check any lottery tickets they may have purchased this year. As of Wednesday, Illinois Lottery officials say there are still 10 tickets totaling nearly $7 million that have not yet been claimed.

The unclaimed prizes total between $200,000 and $2 million and were sold at businesses in Chicago, Buffalo Grove, Skokie, Chicago Heights, Bellwood and Loves Park as early as April the year. The most recent tickets were sold in the past week, including a $450,000 wining ticket from a Buffalo Grove gas station Wednesday and a $2 million ticket in Shorewood over the weekend.

Illinois Lottery officials are encouraging residents to check their pants pockets, drawers and the glove boxes in their cars for any tickets as you might just have one of the tickets below:

  • Dec. 20: A winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket totaling $450,000 was sold at the Speedway, 201 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Buffalo Grove.
  • Dec. 16: A winning Mega Millions ticket totaling $2 million was sold at Lenny Gas N Washington Sherwood, 1201 W. Jefferson St., Shorewood.
  • Nov. 23: A $200,000 winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket was sold at Express Lane, 2225 N. Main Street, Princeton.
  • Nov. 18: A winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket totaling $325,000 was sold at Torrence BP, 17002 Torrence Avenue, Lansing.
  • Nov. 8: A winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket totaling $600,000 was sold at Jewel Food Store, 3082, 6014 S. Cottage Grove Avenue, Chicago.
  • Oct. 29: A $250,000 winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket was sold at FairPlay Finer Foods, 2200 S. Western Avenue, Chicago.
  • Oct. 27: A winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket totally $1.2 million was sold at Jewel Food Store 3441, 2940 N. Ashland, Chicago.
  • Sept. 10: A $100,000 winning Powerball ticket was sold at Road Ranger, 7500 E. Riverside, Loves Park.
  • Aug. 15: A winning Powerball Ticket totaling $1 million was sold at OM Chicago Heights Oil, 605 Dixie Highway Chicago Heights.
  • June 26: A $450,000 winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket was sold at Kostner Korner, 4356 W. Howard, Skokie.
  • April 20: A winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket totaling $225,000 was sold at Bellwood Mobil, 2418 St. Charles Road, Bellwood.

If you bought a Lucky Day Lotto or Powerball ticket this year, you may want to check your old jacket pockets, purses, car glove box, or wherever you may have placed an old lottery ticket, Illinois Lottery officials said this past week.
