Lake in the Hills To Host First Kid's Cardboard Box Car Race

From the Village of Lake in the Hills: Start your engine! On Saturday, May 19 we are hosting our first cardboard box car race. Parents and children work together to create a car or other vehicle out of a cardboard box prior to the event.

Our car factory will be open from 10am to noon if you wish to bring and assemble your own materials. At race time (1pm) bring your wearable creation and participate in fun car themed activities such as: the kiddy DMV, Photo Stop Safety Walk, LITH 500 Speedway race, bubble car wash, drive-thru diner, and visit with a LITH Police Officer.

Repair station available if vehicles need repairs or a rental car. Outdoor event held rain or shine. Event held in cooperation with the LITH Police Department at the Safety Education Center.
