GRIFFIN C. NEWCOMB SENTENCED TO SIX YEARS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that 22-year-old Griffin C. Newcomb of Barrington, Illinois, pled guilty on July 16, 2021, to Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, a class 1 Felony, before the Honorable Judge Robert Wilbrandt.

The Crystal Lake Police Department led an investigation into the defendant and found that the defendant was in possession of between 15 and 200 doses of a substance containing LSD on October 17, 2019.   

Newcomb was sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, with a recommendation for the Impact Incarceration Program.

The investigation was led by Officer Lewandowski of the Crystal Lake Police Department and was prosecuted by Judy Shammo of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
