DUNDEE, IL — The Dundee Township Park District plans to open its 18-hole Randall Oaks Golf Course on Friday, park district officials announced in recent days. The decision to open comes days after Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced some recreational facilities and parks will be able to reopen on May 1 under new guidelines set up under the state's extended stay-at-home order.

The park district plans to adhere to "strict safety guidelines to ensure social distancing," according to a Facebook post from the Dundee Township Park District, which manages the golf course. Up to two golfers can set up tee times now for golf on Friday, and beyond, at Randall Oaks Golf Course, 4101 Binne Road in West Dundee. In addition, the park district is opening its three-par Acorn Golf Course on Friday and tee times can be set up online.

Those interested in golfing at the local course must pre-pay online and, when they arrive at the course, golfers must check-in with the starter on duty at the first tee. The clubhouse, driving range and practice putting/chippings greens will all remain closed and restrooms will also not be available, according to the golf course's website. There will be no power or push cart rentals available and golfers must walk the course.

There is also no food or beverage service and golfers are asked not to touch the flagstick.

"Styrofoam will be installed at the base of the flagstick to prevent the ball from falling into the hole, " according to the website.

Bunker rakes, ball washers, and drinking water stations will not be in place and golfers and staff must observe social distancing guidelines outlined by health officials.

Those interested in booking a tee time can do so online here.
