Village Hall In Algonquin Closes After Pipe Bursts

ALGONQUIN, IL — The Ganek Municipal Center in Algonquin closed Monday after a pipe burst, village officials said.

Public meetings scheduled for Tuesday at the municipal center, located at 2200 Harnish Drive in Algonquin, will be moved to the village's public works building, according to a post on the village's Facebook page. Residents are encouraged to access village services online.

In a post on the Algonquin Police Department Facebook page, officials said the records division at the municipal center would be closed until further notice due to the pipe break.

"Those seeking to make a police report at the police department may still do so by contacting our dispatcher via the phone provided in the police department vestibule," according to the Facebook post.

It's unclear at this point when the Gannet Municipal Center will reopen.
