Back To School: Atwood Heights Dist. 125 Academic Calendar 2023-2034

ALSIP, IL — Back-to-school planning has already begun for the 2023-2024 academic school year, with calendars available to help parents prepare their children for a smooth transition into the new school year.

The first day of school for students is Aug. 22, with an 11:15 a.m. dismissal for Atwood Heights School Dist. 125 schools in Alsip, Merrionette Park and Oak Lawn.

Some dates are subject to change during the school year. We also suggest that you check the Dist. 125 calendar or your child’s school (Lawn Manor, Meadowlane and Hamlin Upper Grade Center) for late starts, early dismissals, exams, open houses, athletic and school events, as well as your child's school.

Here is the list of dates to know for Dist. 125 schools this school year:

Aug. 22 - First day of school, early dismissal 11:15 a.m.

Sept. 4 - Labor Day, off

Oct. 9 - Columbus Day, off

Nov. 20 to Nov. 21 - Parent/Teacher Conferences
Nov. 22 to Nov. 24 - Thanksgiving break

Dec. 21 - Early dismissal, 11:15 a.m.
Dec. 22 to Jan. 5 - Winter break

Jan. 8 - Teacher Institute, no student attendance
Jan. 9 - School resumes
Jan. 15 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day, off

Feb. 19 - Presidents Day, off

March 4 - Teacher Institute, no school
March 25 to March 29 - Spring break

April 1 - No school

May 3 - Teacher Institute, no student attendance
May 27 - Memorial Day, no school
May 30 - Last day of school
